A Day at Farm Iley - an interview Kristen Chin Cheong

"Prayer is when you have the intention, but you give it with your heart."

Have you ever wondered what goes into farming avocadoes?  Are you curious about sustainable farming practices? The food that we eat on a daily basis – who grows it?

Today, in honour of Season of Creation, we’re answering all these questions by going back to the source.

Welcome to PART 1 of our Save Soil Interviews!

CCSJ sits down with Farm Iley Harvesters, a local farm with a focus on avocado production. In this interview, we go in-depth with volunteer Kristen Chin Cheong. We delve into her connection and history with the environment, as well as her farming philosophy and what led her to get involved with the Save Soil Movement.

We also have a chat with Uncle Henry, who gives us all the secrets to maintaining proper soil health, and how he cares for his avocado trees.

Thank you, Kristen, Uncle Henry, and Auntie Claudette! Your knowledge is essential to the betterment of our common home.
